Becoming a wellness blogger was never really something I ever thought I would be doing. I was going through the motions, eating whatever I wanted, and I wasn’t paying attention to what I was putting into my body. I was suffering from chronic fatigue, I had chronic migraines and from a young age, I was dealing with reproductive issues. As an adult now, I struggle with epstein barr virus ( a chronic virus that attacks your immune system and your nervous system). After going to doctor after doctor and never receiving any true answers as to why my health was compromised, I began to study the body on my own. At the age of 17, I found out that our bodies have the ability to heal themselves…they just need the right activation. Through different plants and foods, we can begin the healing process. We have miracle bodies, they’re complex systems. They’re constantly trying to repair themselves after the damage we do and the harm we cause every day. Living well in body, mind & spirit means being intentional about what we put into our bodies. I’m here to teach you how. No medical advice, no hype, just activating your body’s own potential to be all it was created to be.

gut health

The gut biome is such a big deal because it isn’t limited to gut health. Its far-reaching effects on the body as a whole are big and profound. The gut biome can support your immune system, your heart, your metabolism, your skin and so much more. In fact, some researchers have started calling the gut biome the “second brain”. The bacteria in our gut not only play an important role in digestion, but research suggests that our microbiome could also play a major role in your ability to maintain healthy weight. Think of prebiotics and probiotics like a garden. Probiotics plant the seeds, giving your gut biome the good bacteria it needs. Prebiotics are the fertilizer, giving those bacteria in turn, the food they need to thrive and do their job. Like a one-two punch for your gut (but in a good way).

As someone who has struggled with digestion issues for years, I can attest to how important it is to have a great probiotic and prebiotic. These changed my life and they changed my overall health. I went from not being able to eat any raw green vegetables to being able to eat pretty much anything. Gut health has become such a huge passion of mine because of the many benefits I’ve received:

  • clear skin

  • better digestion

  • better absorption of foods and their nutrition

  • more energy

  • less anxiety

  • better mood

  • balanced hormones

natural energy.

Let me start by saying this, I’m a sleepy person. I can 10-12 hours of sleep in a night and still wake up sleepy. My mom said I was a great baby but they would have to wake me up to eat because I was always sleeping lol. So, as you can imagine, as I’ve gotten older, my responsibilities and tasks that I need to get done during the day take an extra umph in order to be completed.

What I’ve learned is that when our bodies feel tired, it’s usually our brains that are tired. That midday brain fog, the inability to stay focused, the lack of concentration, the dreadful early mornings are all a result of mental fatigue. A complex problem that needs a complex solution. If you’re anything like me, you’re a driven busy woman who has a lot on her plate but who still wants to have the energy to get in a great workout, wash your hair and even have time for wine and dinner with friends the same night. I FEEL YOU! Or maybe you’re a mom who is the ultimate CEO and you simply don’t have time to nap when your newborn is napping. Or you’re in charge of carpool so you have no time to stop for a $7 latte.

We as super-women don’t have the time to compromise our health in order to feel more energetic. We simply just need to get it done. My go to brain drink allows me to do just that. It’s low calorie, free of artificial sweetners and it doesn’t give me those crazy jitters. I can feel confident drinking 2-4 a day because there’s literally no bad stuff. Not only does it provide vitamins and minerals, it actually wakes my brain up! Check out some of the other benefits:

  • Improves mental endurance & mental acuity, concentration & memory retention *

  • Increases physical & mental energy while improving positive mood *

  • Supports neurotransmitter function and the brain’s resilience to stress *

  • Reduces mental fatigue & brain fog *

  • Clean, low-calorie, low-carb, vegetarian formula, BSCG approved and free of artificial colors, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, added sugars, GMOs and gluten

anti aging.

Did you know that we start the aging process the moment we turn 20? Our bodies automatically stop producing necessary antioxidants and cellular damage starts on the inside and on the outside. Think about an apple or an avocado after it has been sitting out; the same things are happening to our bodies as we age. The good news? There are things we can do everyday to slow down the harmful effects of aging.

How you can slow down the aging process:

  • Upregulate your body’s own response system proactively so that you can manage the inevitable aches and pains that come with aging.

  • Limit alcohol intake, cut out smoking. Drink water and lots of it. Drink adrenal cocktails for hydration. (Orange juice + Coconut water)

  • Eliminate toxic products from your household. Cleaning products, beauty products, candles, processed foods are all things we need to be mindful of when considering how to slow down the aging process.

What I use on a daily basis on top of doing all of the above is designed to support your body and mind with 3 supplements that together deliver comprehensive benefits for healthy aging, cellular energy, mood, and mental focus.

recovery.

As someone who grew up as an athlete and as someone who has grown up in a family of athletes, I have always understood the importance of recovery. This could be recovering from a workout, recovering from a busy week mentally, or even recovering from illness. Our bodies show up everyday and fight for us. When we are put under any kind of stress, our cortisol levels increase which can be harmful to our nervous system, our hormones and our overall health.

Recovery is by far the most important component of training whether it’s physical, mental or emotional. For me, someone who struggles with Epstein Barr Virus, ( a chronic virus that attacks the nervous system when under stress; typically that results from mono) it is so important that I listen to my body when its telling me to rest. EBV can cause extreme fatigue, muscle pain and poor immunity. To ensure I’m staying on top of my health, I supplement with my body with 3 key things: anti-inflammatories(inflammation is at the center of all malfunctions in the body), mitochondrial support(we need healthy and thriving mitochondria to give our bodies energy naturally), and NAD(we need to remove waste and toxicity from our cells).
