What it Means to Have Hope in 2020
It’s been a few weeks since I published a blog post. To be honest, I have struggled with what to talk about due to our worlds current events. My intention for starting LivLimitless, was to help people become strong in body, mind & spirit. One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is to not publish content prematurely in order to save a “brand”. The video below is something I recorded for a leadership development company that I have had the privilege to work with. I recorded the video in March prior to anything pandemic, race, or police brutality related. I was asked to speak to young leaders coming out of college going into the work force. Little did I know, the video would have relevance today.
I don’t know if you feel like you’ve lost hope amidst the chaos. Many of you have reached out to me after my last blog and have shared what areas of life you’re in right now; whether that be sinking, swimming or treading water. One of my best friends told me a few days ago he felt like he was swimming but he was swimming upstream. That gave me hope. I feel like we’re all in a battle right now either known or unknown. When you’re in battle, you need weapons. Sometimes those weapons are weapons of faith, other times we need weapons of HOPE.
“When we are full of fear, faith can feel too heavy to lift. When we are drowning in despair, hope can feel more like self-delusion. If we allow hate to seep into our souls, love feel less like a weapon in our hands and more like an anchor around our neck. The warrior knows that their only weapons are faith, hope, and love.”- Erwin McManus
